Remarks
- Systematics: Subfamily: Phenacoccinae (Choi & Lee)
Paroudablis is generally accepted as a subjective synonym of Phenacoccus. Borchsenius (1960b) assigned 8 species to Caulococcus. Tang (1992) accepted Caulococcus as valid and placed in it a total of 24 species. Other students, e. g. Williams & Miller (1985), Kosztarab & Kozár (1988F), did not accept its separation from Phenacoccus. Until the characters upon which these genera have been distinguished, will be critically evaluated in a comprehensive revision, Caulococcus is regarded a subjective synonym of Phenacoccus (Ben-Dov, 1994).
- Structure: Female body normally broadly oval; anal lobes usually at least moderately developed, sometimes with an anal lobe bar. Antenna 9 segmented, occasionally with 8 or 7 segments. Legs well developed, denticle often present on claw; translucent pores absent from hind coxae, often present on tibia and occasionally on femur. Circulus often present, varying in shape from narrowly oval to broadly oval with anvil-like lateral projections, occasionally with 2 or 3 circuli present. Cerarii always present; sometimes dorsal cerarii present. Dorsal setae normally short and lanceolate, sometimes largest setae with trilocular pores associated with the setal collars. Ostioles present. Multilocular disc pores usually present on venter of abdomen, often present in rows across dorsum. Quinquelocular pores, when present, on venter only. Tubular ducts usually elongate, present on venter, sometimes present on dorsum. (Pacheco da Silva, et al., 2020)
