Remarks
- Systematics: Koteja (2000) and Hodgson & Foldi (2006) assigned this species and Steingelia cretacea to a separate family, Steingeliidae.
- Biology: In the Far east Russia the females migrate to forest litter for egg laying. Males flight was observed May 10 (Danzig, 1980b). In Central Europe, adult males appear in April-May, and mating occurs. After mating, females lay eggs in loose ovisacs, in forest litter (Kosztarab & Kozar, 1988). The mature females of Steingelia gorodetskia demonstrate facultative ovoviviparity; some females fom a loose long ovisac and lay the eggs before the germ band formation; the other females have totally deveoped larvae inside their bodies.
