Remarks
- Structure: The species has disc-like pores in a ventral submedian cluster, forming a band from abdominal segment II posteriorly around the abdomen. Multilocular disc pores restricted to a few, situated lateral to opening of anal tube on dorsum. (Zarkani, et al., 2023) Nur et al. (1987) reported chromosome number 2n=24 and sexual reproduction. Color photograph given by Johnson & Lyon (1988).
- Biology: Occurring high on the stems of bamboo, especially in the nodes and under the bracts.
- Economic Importance: Heavy infestations produce a very unsightly condition of the bamboo (Ferris, 1950; McKenzie, 1967).
- General Remarks: Description and illustration of adult female by Ferris (1953a), McKenzie (1967) Tang & Li (1988), Tang (1992), Williams & Granara de Willink (1992) and by Williams (2004a). Description and illustration of first-instar nymph and female second-instar nymph by Yang & Kosztarab (1967).
