Remarks
- Systematics: Baer & Kosztarab (1985) treat this genus in a discussion of the phylogeny of the Nearctic Kermesidae. can be differentiated from other kermesid genera by the following combination of
features: (i) dorsal tubular ducts of 2 types; (ii) anal lobes sclerotized, each more of less triangular, with a single, stout, medially projecting seta; (iii) spiracular pore bands occasionally present, extending from around anterior spiracles on to dorsum; and (iv) the presence of short lateral setae, each less than 1.5× longer than wide at base.
