Remarks
- Systematics: This species is very similar to Ph. aceris but differs in the presence of a dense marginal band of tubular ducts and short dorsal transverse bands of ducts on the thoracic tergites and anterior abdominal tergites only. Choi & Lee (2022) observed a clear acetabuliform ovisac on Phenacoccus rubicola (= Coccura rubicola), which is accordant with one of the major characteristics of Coccura. Other morphological characteristics of C. rubicola are similar to those of Coccura, especially having numerous tubular ducts around body margin. In their phylogenetic analyses, C. rubicola formed a clade with other Coccura species. Consequently, P. rubicola was transferred to Coccura.
