Notes: The genus Allotropa is an important genus parasitising mealybugs (Pseudococcidae) and some species have been used in biological control programs. During recent surveys for Platygastridae in India, three new species of Allotropa were discovered. Allotropa gundlupetensis is found to parasitise the Madeira mealybug, Phenacoccus madeirensis, a newly introduced pest of cotton in India.
