Razig, A.A.M.A. 2014a Survey for Identification and Incidence Evaluation of Dominant Pests on Mangoes Mangifera indica (L.) in Some Parts of Southern Sinnar State, Sudan. Persian Gulf Crop Protection 3(3): 1-5.

Notes: The goal of this work was to study the abundance and intensity of the incidence of the probable insect pests attacking mango trees in some parts of southern Sinnar State. The study was carried out after the rainy season, during the period from October to February 2009 on Abu Naama, Barancoa and Gunoofa in the west bank of the Blue Nile. In different parts of the Sudan, where mangoes trees are dominant, these trees are always suffering from several insect pests, of which the mango scale Pseudaulacaspis cockerelli,(Cooley) and the termite Microtermis spp are the key and common in all mango plantations. The study was conducted on three different types of mangoes trees of the same age grown at that area (Abu samaka, Baladia and Taymour which is known locally as Hindia). The results revealed an abundance of scale insects on mango trees on the three locations (5-10 flecks/cm²/leaf). On the other hand, no termite infestation on mango trees on the same areas.
