Notes: The example of Aonidiella citrina being replaced by A. aurantii on citrus in California despite a superabundance of food is mentioned as puzzling, because it's not clear whether the two species actually share natural enemies in the field. Coexistence, or competitive replacements in the parasitoid guilds assembled for biological control purposes, such as for Parlatoria oleae and Aonidiella aurantii, constitute experiments on a grand scale.
