Notes: The red-striped soft scale insect, Pulvinaria tenuivalvata (Newstead), has recently become a major threat to sugarcane production in the Philippines, causing concern among growers in Luzon and Negros Island regions. The present study was undertaken from August 2025 to January 2026 to document the biology of the pest on sugarcane under laboratory conditions.
