(Hemip., Coccidae).] [Title of volume: [Research on the behavior of the scale insect of cocoa and banana (Aspidiotus destructor Sign.) upon its arrival in Italy.] Richerche sul comportamento della cocciniglia del cocco e del banano (Aspidiotus destructor Sign.) al suo arrivo in Italia.] The behavior of female scale was observed during ootaxis, as well as their movements and the intensity of oviposition, which varied among individuals. The long refrigeration that femals have to endure during transport of bananas from Somalia to Italy does not preclude the ootaxis, however no egg hatches and no first instar is formed. These observations have allayed the fears that the pest will acclimatize in Italy.
