Foldi, I. 2010 Trois espèces nouvelles du genre Crypticerya Cockerell de la région méditerranéenne (Hemiptera, Coccoidea, Monophlebidae).. Bulletin de la Société Entomologique de France 115(3): 289-304.

Notes: Summary. – Three new species of the genus Crypticerya Cockerell from the Mediterranean region (Hemiptera, Coccoidea, Monophlebidae). Studies of archaeococcoids in the Mediterranean region have revealed three new species of scale insects of the genus Crypticerya Monophlebidae). In Egypt, C. aegyptiensis n. sp. and C. thibaudi n. sp occur at Djebel Uweimat on Acacia tortilis raddiana (Savi) Brenan. In Morocco, from the Ouarzazate province, C. marocensis n. sp. is injurious to Rosa spp. These species are characterized by adult females with 6-23 cicatrices grouped into a circular zone behind the vulvar opening. The adult females and the first-instars nymphs are described and illustrated, and a key of adult females is provided. These collections represent the first discovery of Crypticerya species in the Palaearctic region, originating very probably from the Afrotropical region.
