Alexandris, V. 1980a Données bio-ecologiques sur Pollinia pollini (Hom. Coccoidea, Asterolecaniidae) sur olivier en Crète. [Bio-ecological data on Pollinia pollini (Homoptera, Coccoidea, Asterolecanidae) on olive trees in Crete, Greece.]. Annales de la Société Entomologique de France 16: 9-17.

Notes: Outbreaks of P. pollini were recorded in several places on Crete and it is an economic problem today. Biology and ecology of this pest were studied for 2 yr by means of infested samples of small branches and leaves. Development of buds is stopped and twigs, branches and trees dry up. This pest has 2 generations/yr. Some biological characteristics of this coccid were: sex ratio, fecundity, natural mortality and hibernation. Its distribution on the tree was observed and some pesticides tested against it.
