Remarks
- Systematics: Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2015) stated that Trionymus turgidus differed from the types of T. copiosus only in the presence of a small circulus. They did not consider this character enough for the species separation in view of the individual variablilty that they found in different mealybugs including other species of Trionymus.
- Structure: Female body elongate-oval, up to 4 mm long, pink in life. Antennae 6-7 segmented. Legs with thin segments; hind coxae with translucent pores. Anal apparatus complete. Specimens collected from Phragmites in Turkmenistan and Tadjikistan usually have more numerous multilocular pores along the margin of the cephalothorax than specimens from other grasses. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
- Economic Importance: Parasites in the Palaearctic region discussed by Trjapitzin (1989).
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Danzig (1997a). Good description of the adult female given by Borchsenius (1949) and by Tang (1992).
