This species is distinctive in having very broad L1, a cicatrix on the dorsal submargin of abdominal segment III, dorsal ducts abruptly smaller on abdominal segment II, 2 setae on the antenna, and a broad body (less than twice as long as wide). It is similar to P. naamba Hardy and Henderson but differs in having a cicatrix on the dorsal submargin of abdominal segment III (cicatrix apparently absent in P. naamba), body less than twice as long as wide (more than twice as long as wide in P. naamba), and L1 sunken almost entirely into notch in apex of pygidium, with almost no free outer margin (L1 of P. naamba protruding from pygidial margin, with free outer margin about half as long as inner margin). (Wei, Normark & Normark, 2026)
- Structure: Adult female with white scale cover. Found on upper surface of leaves. Slide-mounted adult female (n = 3) 530–810 μm long, 330–550 μm wide. Body outline broadly oval, widest at metathorax, moderately indented between thoracic and prepygidial abdominal segments, derm membranous except for sclerotized areas of pygidium. (Wei, Normark & Normark, 2026)
