The adult female of Kuwania clandestina is similar to that of K. pasaniae Borchsenius in having: (i) six pairs of abdominal spiracles and (ii) large simple pores. It differs from the latter in having (character states in K. pasaniae in parentheses): (i) a tuft of seven or eight capitate setae at the distal end of the tibia (distal end of tibia with 13–30 capitate setae); (ii) small simple pores present on the dorsum (simple pores present on the venter only). - Structure: Appearance in life. Body oblong, reddish in color; legs and antennae developed; naked or dorsum covered with flocculent wax; hidden under the bark of Fagaceae. Slide-mounted body 2.4–4.1 mm long, 0.9–1.3 mm wide; derm membranous, segmentation distinct. Antennae each 482–614 μm long,
