Remarks
- Systematics: In 2010, Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin Planococcus juniperus with Planacoccus vovae stating that "The figure of P. juniperus drawn by Tang & Li (1988), shows no differences with P. vovae (=P. taigae) collected from the same species of Juniperus". Wu, Li and Xu noted that they made this determination from the illustration only and did not look at type specimens. After examination of the morphology and an analysis of the genetic data from specimens collected from the type location, they realized that these two species were not the same and that the synonym should be restored to its species status: Planococcus juniperus Tang, revived status
- Biology: The available records of this species indicate that it is distributed in the eastern Palaearctic Region as compared to the western distribution of the very similar Planococcus vovae.
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Tang & Li (1988). Good description of the adult female given by Tang (1992). Best illustration of the adult female in Wu, Li & Xu, 2023.
