Remarks
- Structure: Adult female circular or subcircular (Balachowsky, 1954e). Exuviae yellow. Male puparium elongate, white, with 3 carinae. Adult female broadly pyriform, pygidium broadly triangular with distinct median emargination, reddish, pygidium yellow (Bodenheimer, 1953). Adult female circular or subcircular, completely membranous. Anterior spiracles each associated with 1 pore; posterior spiracles without associated pores. Pygidium with 5 pairs of lobes. Median lobes (L1) large, divergent, forming a deep apical notch, the lobes with a pair of setae between them. Second lobes (L2) subparallel, each with rounded apex, symmetrical, outer lobules (L2b) very small. Third lobes (L3) conspicuous, larger than outer lobules of L2. Fourth lobes (L4) same shape as L3 but smaller. Fifth lobes (L5) each represented by a sclerotised spur. (Moghaddam & Watson, 2021)
- Biology: Diaspis syriaca seems to have only one generation per year (Bodenheimer, 1953).
- General Remarks: Detailed description and illustration by Balachowsky (1954e).
