Remarks
- Systematics: The species was originally described from specimens collected in Mexico, on grapevines. Later, the species was reported from Argentina and Chile, but whether the South American specimens are conspecific with the Mexican species needs to be verified. (Kondo, et al., 2016) González, 2016 states that C. palmeri has not been confused with I. purchasi.
- Economic Importance: Reported as a serious pest of alfalfa, grapevine and ornamental in Chile (Bartlett, 1978c).
- General Remarks: Description and illustration of adult female and first-instar nymph by Unruh (2008). Description of first instar nymph by Riley & Howard (1890). Description of adult female by Townsend & Cockerell (1898) and Vayssière (1926).
