Remarks
- Systematics: Coccidohystrix artemisiae is similar to C. echinota, but difers in the presence of tubular ducts. (Danzig et al., 2012) Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2014) studied the original descriptions and illustrations Seabrina cistorum and C. artemisiae and the subsequent redescription by Gómez-Menor Ortega and were unable to find any differences between the two. Therefore, these species were synonymized.
- Biology: Occurring on the leaves of the host plant. Living on leave, stems and roots of Artemisia species. (Danzig, et al., 2012)
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Kiritchenko (1937), Tereznikova (1975) and by Kosztarab & Kozár (1988). Good description of the adult female given by Borchsenius (1949) and by Tang (1992). Description and illustration of adult female synonym, Seabrina cistorum, by Neves (1943) and by Gomez-Menor Ortega (1957). Description and illustration of adult male of Seabrina cistorum by Gomez-Menor Ortega (1957).
