Remarks
- Systematics: Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2015) reviewed the mixed type material of Balanocccus kwoni and determined that the females from Italy (holotype and some paratypes) did not differ from the types of Trionymus hamberdi, whereas females from Korea were conspecific with Trionymus orientalis (Danzig & Ivanova, 1976) (= Balanococcus orientalis). They transferred the females from Korea to Trionymus hamberdi based on their analysis of the original description and figures.
- Structure: Female body elongate-oval, with almost parallel sides, up to 4 mm long, pink in life. Antennae 7-segmented. Legs small; hind coxae with translucent pores. Anal apparatus complete. Both pairs of ostioles normally developed. Circulus usually absent. Multilocular pores forming transveres rows and bands on three posterior abdominal sternites and occasionally present along the margin of abdominal tergites and sternites. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Danzig & Ivanova (1976) and by Danzig (1980b). Good description of the adult female given by Koteja (1988a), Marotta (1992a) and by Tang (1992).
