Remarks
- Systematics: This species is similar to Rungaspis capparidis (Bodenheimer) (=R. trabuti Balachowsky) in the median trullae of the adult female distinctly separated from each other, but is easily distinguishable from the latter in the anus situated much closer to the median trullae, in lacking spiniform pectinae on the seventh abdominal segment, in having fewer dorsal ducts towards the apex of the pygidium, in having some submarginal dorsal ducts towards the lateral comer of the pygidium, and in the dorsal marginal seta on the seventh abdominal segment thicker than the setae on the other segments. (Takagi & Moghaddam, 2005) Rungaspis macrolobis is distinct in having the median trullae closely appressed together and deeply notched on the outer side. However, it is similar to Rungaspis avicenniae in the anus situated close to the apex of the pygidium and in the dorsal ducts of the pygidium fewer than in R. capparidis. (Takagi & Moghaddam, 2005)
- Structure: Female and male tests white, burrowing under a thin upper epidermal layer of the bark. (Takagi & Moghaddam, 2005) Adult female. Body circular, with the pygidium broad, triangular, and a little rounded along the margin; attaining about Imm in length when fully grown. Prepygidial region becoming oblong, strongly sci erotized broadly along the margin at maturity. Dorsal surface of the pygidium somewhat sclerotized on a broad median area, sub basally with a slender median sclerosis curved to form an inverted V-shape, sometimes interrupted medially, and with an oblique lateral sclerosis on each side divided into several pieces.
- General Remarks: Description and illustration of adult female by Takagi & Moghaddam (2005).
