Holotype, female, Type depository: Tucuman: Fundacion e Instituto Miguel Lillo, Universidade Nactional de Tucuman, Argentina; junior homonym (discovered by Willia2017, 129). Notes: Phenacoccus ornatus Granara de Willink (Granara de Willink & Szumik, 2007: 81) was described from Argentina on Zuccagnia punctata. The scale insect name is a junior homonym of Phenacoccus ornatus Green (now Lankacoccus ornatus (Green)) described originally by Green (1922: 392) from Sri Lanka on Jasminum sp.
