Remarks
- Systematics: Parlagena mckenziei is similar to P. buxi, but differs in the absence of median macropores, the form and number of plates and the number of peristigmatic glands (Balachowsky, 1950a).
- Structure: Female scale circular, faintly convex, satiny white. Larval exuviae brown, subcentral, 1.0-1.2 mm long. Adult female pyriform, narrowed at abdominal segment III; cephalothoracic derm not sclerotized, entirely membranous. Pygidium with two pairs of well developed lobes, 3rd set of lobes entirely absent (Balachowsky, 1950a). Slide-mounted adult female pyriform, body narrowing at abdominal segment III. Antennae each with a median split and bearing 1 seta. Anterior spiracles each associated with 1 disc pore; posterior spiracles without associated disc pores. Pygidium with 2 pairs of lobes; median lobes (L1) large and parallel, each lobe asymmetric, inner margin with 1 notch and outer margin with 2 notches. Plates absent from median space.
