Remarks
- Systematics: Koteja & Azar (2008) assigned Palaeotupo to Putoidae. The interrogative mark before the family name, is probably an indication to their doubts. Koteja & Azar (2008) defined the genus: Male putoid-like neococcid with two rows of simple eyes and knobbed setae on apical antennal joint, narrow penial sheath, and lacking claw digitules and teeth. The phylogenetic analysis by Vea & Grimaldi (2015) failed to retrieve it as closely related to Putoidae. Additionally, based on the presence of more than one row of eyes (Koteja and Azar, 2008), the assignment to Putoidae remains doubtful
