Remarks
- Systematics: This species is rather similar to M. subterranea, but differs from it in the elongate shape of the body, in thinner setae in place of the last cerarian pair and in the presence of a circulus. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015) The record of M. orientalis from Korea Kwon, et al., 2003 is probably based on a misidentification. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
- Biology: Occurring on the stems of grasses.
- General Remarks: Description and illustration of adult female by Maskell (1898), Ferris (1954) and by Kwon et al. (2003a).
