Remarks
- Systematics: According to the original descriptions, M. ammophila and M. brevipilosa differ from each other in the size of their setae and tubular ducts. However, these differences are absent when studied with a modern microscope and the sizes of setae and ducts overlap. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
- Structure: Living adult female body yellow, oval, convex, up to 2.5 mm long. Antennae 6-segmented. Legs large without translucent pores. Anal apparatus complete. Two pair of ostioles present. Circulus absent. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
- Biology: Living on roots and under lower leaf sheths of host plants (Gavrilov, 2007).
- General Remarks: Description and illustration of adult female by Bazarov & Nurmamatov (1975a), Matesova (1981) (as M. brevipilosa) and by Gavrilov (2007).
