Remarks
- Systematics: Ferris (1937d) and Balachowsky (1950b) accepted Gonaspidiotus as distinct genus. It differs from Aspidaspis Ferris, in possessing two pairs of pygidial lobes. It also differs from Aspidiotus, Abgrallaspis and Dynaspidiotus by the total absence of plates on segment 6 of the pygidium (Balachowsky, 1950b).
- Structure: Adult female with 2 pairs of well-developed lobes; median lobes (L1) parallel and symmetrical, +with a macroduct present between them; second lobes (L2) divergent; third lobes (L3) absent. Plates present on margins between segments VII & VIII, VI & VII, and on segment V. Dorsal submarginal macroducts present on prepygidial, and pygidial segments. Paraphyses absent.
