- Systematics: The holotype of both Amorphococcus leptospermi Morrison & Morrison (1927) and Gallinococcus ferrisi Lambdin & Kosztarab (1973) [type species of Gallinococcus Lambdin & Kosztarab (1973)] is the same single specimen, deposited in USNM, and labelled in red ink "Amorphococcus leptospermi/n.sp./Holotype/HM." in black ink "8480/Sphaerococcus/ leptospermi Masl./on/Leptospermum/N.S.W/W.W.
