• Systematics: The holotype of both Amorphococcus leptospermi Morrison & Morrison (1927) and Gallinococcus ferrisi Lambdin & Kosztarab (1973) [type species of Gallinococcus Lambdin & Kosztarab (1973)] is the same single specimen, deposited in USNM, and labelled in red ink "Amorphococcus leptospermi/n.sp./Holotype/HM." in black ink "8480/Sphaerococcus/ leptospermi Masl./on/Leptospermum/N.S.W/W.W. Froggatt" in pencil "40358/B". The right label is not original and labelled, in pencil, "Leptospermi/associated with Lecanodiaspis/H.M.
