- Systematics: Subfamily ASPIDIOTINAE Tribe AONIDIINI (Normark, et al., 2019)
The genus Dichosoma resembles Neomorgania and Mimeraspis in having the median lobes united. It differs from both genera in the absence of perispiracular disc pores, and the pygidium having long spines and great number of prominent plates (Brimblecombe, 1957).
