Remarks
- Structure: During its life cycle, female’s C. brasiliensis has four developmental stages: first nymphal instar, second nymphal instar, third nymphal instar and adult. The second-instar nymph has a long white thread, which starts in the anal tube, and, at its apical end a honeydew’ dropcan be observed. The third-instar nymphs and adult females are found within a hardened spherical structure (carapace) produced by the insect itself, where they remain until oviposition. (dos Santos Wolff & Azevedo Filho, 2016)
- General Remarks: Description and illustration of nymph and adult female by Ferris (1918a) and by Morrison (1928).
