NOMENCLATURE:

Grimaldiella Koteja, 2000: 158-159. Type species: Grimaldiella resinophila Koteja, by original designation.

STRUCTURE: Orthezioid alate male with a broad head, well-developed ocular sclerites widely separated on dorsum and venter, each with a row of 6 simple eyes and an ocellus, with dorso- and venteromedial plates present, both with weak midcranial ridges and a few setae. Antennae 10-segmented, pedicel only slightly broader than flagellar joints, with numerous setae (Koteja, 2000).

STRUCTURE: Larger than G. resinophila, 900-1320 µm long, 330-420 µm wide at mesothorax. Head subrotund, broader than long, with conspicuous ocular sclerites (Koteja, 2000).

STRUCTURE: Medium-sized, 900-1150 µm long, 300-330 µm wide at mesothorax. Head subrotund; ocular sclerites well-developed, widely separated on dorsum and venter, each bearing 6 simple eyes, the lateral one being the largest, and an ocellus. Wings broad, narrow at base, with prominent lobes for holding halteral setae (Koteja, 2000).
