Zhao, Y.M., Han, B.Y., Zhang, Y., & Luan, Y.B. 1998 [Study on the pomegranate mealybug and its control.]. China Fruits No. 3, 12-14.

Notes: A study in China revealed that Eriococcus lagerstroemiae had three generations a year, its nymphs overwintering in the bark gaps of trees. Eggs were purple-red, and turned to a pinkish-red. The infested trees were weak, and the branches usually died. Low winter temperatures resulted in high mortality of the pest. The pest could be successfully controlled using a solution of methidathion (Supracide) emulsion.
