Notes: Icerya aegyptiaca (Douglas) and I. jacobsoni Green, both belonging to the Monophlebidae, Icerya, are common pests in southern China. It's difficult to distinguish morphologically and is often confused because of the covered waxy secretions at developmental stages. This study provides a detailed comparison of the host plants, live morphological characteristics, and slide specimen characteristics of these two species. Our results can provide a basis for accurate identification, monitoring, and controlling.
