(Col., Coccinellidae)'nin soguga dayanikli irkinin temini ve dogu Akdeniz bolgesine adaptasyonu uzerinde arastirmalar.] Studies were carried out on introduction into East Mediterranean region of cold-tolerant biotypes of the citrus mealybug predatory insect, Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Muls. and its adaptation to the region during the years of 1990-1995. Samples of the predator were introduced into the region from Australia and Israel. It has been concluded that there was no difference between the old race and introduced races of C. montrouzieri, regarding cold-hardiness, prey consumption capacity and other biological characters. As a result of the study, neither introduced nor old races of C. montrouzieri were detected in the orchards where the predatory insect was released for mealybug control in the previous years. However, adults and larvae of C. montrouzieri were observed on cypress trees that heavily infested by Planococcus sp. in late Mary and June of 1994 and 1995.
