Notes: The ecology of the nymphs of the margarodid Matsucoccus matsumurae, a pest of Pinus, was studied in the field and laboratory in China. The mortality of nymphs was >90% in high summer temperatures. There was a close relationship between mortality and light and mortality and the surface temperature of the bark.
