Of 56 species from 20 families found in a survey, 7 species were considered to be economically important pests including scale species Aonidiella orientalis. Lesser pests include Asterolecanium pustulans, Ceroplastes floridensis, C. rusci, Coccus elatensis, C. hesperidum, Milviscutulus mangiferae, Parasaissetia nigra, Protopulvinaria pyriformis, Saissetia oleae, S. privigna, Planococcus citri, Pseudococcus citriculus, P. longispinus, Abgrallaspis cyanophylli, Aonidiella aurantii, Aspidiotus spinosus, Chrysomphalus aonidum and Hemiberlesia lataniae.
