Notes: B. rutilan sp. nov. is described. The body of the adult female is nearly ovoid, apprx 0.8 mm long, 0.45 mm wide and dark-red in color. This new species is closely related to B. ceriferum ceriferum, but has an enlarged ventral quinquelocular pore; B. c. ceriferum has none. It is also close to B. gemmae, but the anal ring has 2 setae; in B. gemmae the anal ring has 6 setae. Phyllostachys edulis Carr. is the host.
