Wearing, C.H., & Thomas, W.P. 1978 Integrated control of apple pests in New Zealand. 13. Selective insect control using diflubenzuron and Bacillus thuringiensis.. Proceedings of the Thirty-First New Zealand Weed and Pest Control Conference. Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries Palmerston North, N.Z. 256 pp.
Notes: [Conference held at Devon Motor Lodge, New Plymouth, August 8 to 10, 1978.] It is reported in this further paper in a series from New Zealand on integrated control of pests of apple [see preceding abstract, etc.] that diflubenzuron was shown at Nelson in 1975-78 to be a promising agent for the selective control of apple insect pests. Although this treatment was effective against other pests, infestation of the fruit by Quadraspidiotus perniciosus (Comst.) and mealybugs (pseudococcids) was not reduced by the treatments.
