Notes: This article is the second in a planned series of seven entitled “Towards the identification of the scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha) of continental Africa”. Currently 23 scale insect families are known to occur in Africa; Watson and Ouvrard (2021) provide a key for their identification. For Africa, there are no scale insect families for which identification keys are available for the whole continent. The present work provides synoptic coverage for the identification of members of six archaeococcoid families found on the continent.
