Notes: The prospect for using Insegar [fenoxycarb] against Lepidoptera (and San Jose scale [Quadraspidiotus perniciosus]) in orchards (especially on apple) in the South Tyrol, Italy, are discussed. The use of this insecticide with insect growth regulator action against the various target pests is discussed individually, and advantages (including its low hazard rating against predators and parasitoids of arthropod pests) and disadvantages are summarized. Recommendations for the use of fenoxycarb in the integrated control of insect pests in orchards are briefly tabulated.
