Notes: The history of use of Rodolia cardinalis against Icerya purchasi on citrus is summarized and the problems of its use to control the pest in Italy are discussed. The coccinellid cannot overwinter in the harsh winters of north and central Italy and they have suffered from unwise use of pesticides in the south of the country.
