Notes: [Second International Symposium on Mango held in Bangalore, India, 20-24 May, 1985, Chadha & Pal (Eds.)] Mango has many pests of which two groups, the Homopterans and Coleopteran insects are the major problem demanding control measures. Nearly 200 insects are on record as pests of mango. In the present paper, an assessment of the work done on mango pests in the world is reviewed. Mango mealybugs discussed include Monophlebus stebbingi var. mangiferae (Drosicha mangiferae), D. contrachans and D. dalbergiae. Coccids associated with mango include Aonidiella aurantii, Aspidiotus spp., Ceroplastes spp., Chrysomphalus aonidum, Diaspis spp., Icerya spp., Lecanium spp., Parlatoria spp., Phenacoccus spp., Planococcus citri, Pseudococcus spp., and Pulvinaria polygonata.
