Notes: Abstract: Common name: San Jose scale; serious pest of temperate fruits; worldwide distribution; recorded on more than 200 plant species; causes economic losses in India on apple, plum and pear; previous unsuccessful attempts have been made to establish Aphytis diaspidis and Encarsia perniciosi for control; other biocontrol agents being tested inlude Azotus kashmirensis, A. perspeciosus, Aphytis proclia, Teleterebratus perversus, Chilocorus bijugus, Coccinella septumpunctata, Oenopia sauzeti, Pharoscymnus flexiblis and Sticholotis marginalis.
