Teixeira, R., Bento, A., & Gonçalves, M. 2000 Avaliacao da fauna auxiliar associada ao olival em producao biologica em Tras-os-Montes. [Evaluation of auxiliary fauna associated with organic olive production in Tras-os-Montes.]. Boletín de Sanidad Vegetal, Plagas 26(4): 629-635 (Suppl.).

Notes: The olive groves are for some national regions (Tras-os-Montes, Beira Litoral, Beira Interior, Ribatejo e Oeste and Alentejo) an important economical resource. There are a lot of pests and diseases that might cause damage in the olive groves. The more common pests are: olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae) olive moth (Prays oleae) and the black scale (Saissetia oleae); and the more common diseases are olive leaf spot (Spilocaea oleagina) and Gloeosporium olivarum. Many natural enemies appear because of the small number of chemical treatments. Between February 1996 and February 1997, natural enemies were collected by beating technique and identified at family level.
