Notes: The history of Coccoid fauna study in China may be divided into three stages. The early stage began in the year 1848 with the description of Ericerus pela and lasted until 1935 with a publication by the late Prof. Wu Chenfu of Yencheng University of China which included 165 species belonging to 47 genera and 7 subfamilies. This paper reviews that early work in light of recent knowledge and claims 152 real species recorded with 168 omitted, belonging to 120 genera and 11 families in accordance with recent taxonomy.
