Notes: A rare Japanese felt scale insect, Acanthococcus chabohiba（Kuwana & Nitobe,１９１８）, is redescribed and illustrated based on materials newly collected by the author from Okinoshima−cho, Shimane Prefecture, and by Dr. Shozo Kawai from Kanto district, Japan. This species is very similar to Acanthococcus tokaedae （Kuwana, １９３２）but differs clearly from A. tokaedae in the absence of macrotubular ducts on the submarginal area of the venter.
