Notes: Investigations were made with botanicals like TNAU neem formulations and neem derivatives against two tailed mealy bug, Ferrisia vir g at a (Ckl l.) and citrus mealy bug, Planococus citri Risso Spray formulations of neem oil 1 and 2 per cent, three neem formulations v iz. TNAU NO (A), TNAU NO(C) A D T AU NOPO (C) each at 2 per cent were prepared and evaluated along with the standard check. phosphamidon 85 SC@ I ml/lit. Leaf discs of 5cm diameter from wild rubber and citrus were prepared and dipped in the respective solutions for 15 seconds, shade dried and transferred to a petridish containing a filter paper over moist cotton. Twenty five crawlers of each species was used in each replication and which were replicated thrice for each species, Observations on the mortality were recorded at the end of 1 and 3 DAT and percentage of mortality of each mealy bug was worked out. The results obtai ned indicated that all the neem derivatives and formulations were very effective against the crawlers of mealybugs, Among the two mealy bugs, P. citri was found to be comparatively susceptible to these formulations when compared to F.virgata and the percentage of mortality of crawlers ranged from 75.90 to 89.70 and from 93.70 to 93.70 to 100.00 respectively for F. virgata and Picitri. Reduced effectiveness of the formulations to the crawlers may be due to the presence of the mealy coating on F. virgata than on P, cirri.
