Storchevaya, E.M., Prakh, S.V., & Borodulina, M.Y. 2004 A strategy of self-defence in orchard agrocoenoses in the south of Russia.. Zashchita i Karantin Rastenii 7: 19-20.

Notes: Mechanisms of self-defense of fruit crops within the system comprising plants, insect pests and beneficial insects based on resistance in plants are outlined. Data are tabulated on a degree of damage measured on a 1-5 scale to apple, pear, plum, myrobalan plum, peach, and sweet and sour cherries caused by San Jose scale [Diaspidiotus perniciosus] and other species during 1974-2000. Field trials were conducted during 1974-2002 to study resistance of 45 apple cultivars to damage by 14 insect pests.
