Singh, S.J., & Sastry, S.M. 1974 Wilt of pineapple -- a new virus disease in India.. Indian Phytopathology 27: 298-303.

Notes: The wilt disease of pineapple of viral etiology was transmitted from wilting plants to healthy ones through mealybugs (Dysmicoccus brevipes Ckl.) which were previously fed on diseased plants. All the inoculated test plants exhibited the symptoms of wilting within 50-60 days following inoculation. The development of the disease was observed in four distinct stages. The stages are described in this report.
