Notes: It was observed that Comperiella bifasciata of China breeds freely on A. aonidiella when reared upon citrus, but is unable to do so when the scale is grown on Cycas. The morphologically identical C. bifasciata of Japan breeds freely on A. citrina Coq., morphologically almost indistinguishable from A. aurantii, but is unable to breed on this latter species although the Chinese and Japanese Comperiella interbreed freely.
